Marine Technician Training

With MMI's marine technician program, you can prepare for entry-level marine mechanic positions. Diagnosing electrical and mechanical systems, making repairs and replacements, and offering maintenance services are a few of the things you could learn. Other areas of instruction that are covered in detail include:

  • Inboard gas and diesel engines
  • Outboard 2-stroke and 4-stroke motors

Graduate Refresher Courses

If you feel like you need to refresh your skills at any time after you have graduated, you can return to the school and retake any course that you have already successfully completed (as long as the course is still being offered).   • Housing Assistance—If you are relocating to attend MMI, the Student Services staff can help you locate a place of residence as well as roommates. And if any housing problems arise while you are attending school, staff can work with you to find a resolution.
  • Financial Aid and scholarships—The Financial Aid staff can assist you with determining your eligibility for various forms of financial aid and help you apply for it. Plus, since Universal Technical Institute (UTI) operates MMI, students may be able to apply for the scholarships offered by UTI.2
  • Veterans Assistance—Among other support services, the school can help guide U.S. military veterans through their VA benefits3 and locate potential scholarships.
